Paralegal

Kim is a paralegal who has worked in the legal field since 1990. She obtained an associate’s degree in Paralegal Studies in 1996 from the University of Charleston. Her legal experience includes mass litigation, toxic torts, personal injury, wrongful death, medical negligence, nursing home abuse, automobile accidents, and premises liability. As a paralegal, Kim has participated in numerous trials over her career.

She currently assists each of the partners at Mani Ellis & Layne, PLLC with civil cases on behalf of injured individuals. She is responsible for case evaluation and investigation, file management, client contact, drafting and filing of pleadings, document organization and trial preparation.

Kim has also served as Chair of the Paralegal Committee for the West Virginia Association for Justice. She has been a member of the advisory committee for paralegal studies at Bridge Valley Community & Technical College. Most recently, she was a volunteer for abused and neglected children through CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) in her hometown in Jackson County, West Virginia. Kim is also very active with the 4H program in Jackson County and serves as a volunteer leader for one of the local 4H clubs.

On a personal note, Kim is married and has a daughter. In her leisure time, she enjoys horseback riding, crafts, reading and spending time with her family and pets.
